Romans workshop at Fulham Palace
Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic, informative workshop at Fulham Palace about the Roman Villa there. Archaeological investigations have uncovered many Roman artefacts, including coins, pottery and building materials, indicating that a Roman villa once stood close to the walled garden at Fulham Palace.
Children handled artefacts, dressed in costumes and debated the issues of the time including changes in culture and beliefs. After lunch, we took some time to explore the current Palace, the historic home of the Bishops of London. It is a great local site to visit with your children!
