Girls’ and Boys’ Football Tournament
Yesterday, our girls’ and boys’ teams went to the Kingston and Richmond Boroughs Football Tournament. This tournament includes all the primary schools from both boroughs and so there was a lot of stiff competition. Having made it through the first round we were delighted to qualify for the cup competition for the first time. This part of the tournament is usually for larger, 2, 3, 4 and 5 form entry schools. Both teams played incredibly and our girls were very unlucky to narrowly miss out on a place in the final on penalties. Our boys went all the way to the final and at full time it was a draw after some impressive play by both teams. Sadly, we lost 4-5 on penalties but we could not be prouder of all the children who played with skill, determination and resilience. A huge thank you to Hassan for all the work he has done with all our children, his passion and expertise means that our small school is competing with schools that are often three times our size and winning. Thank you to the parents who helped on the day and keep everything crossed for our upcoming league matches.
