Welcome to Year 2D.
Year 2 is a very special year for our children and is full of exciting events. Throughout the year, the children work hard to achieve their best in the Year 2 assessments which take place in the summer term, and at Christmas, when they take their starring roles in the St. Mary Magdalen’s Nativity.
We also study many exciting topics this year. In History, the children enjoy learning about The Great Fire of London, the history of London and Florence Nightingale, while in our Geography lessons we study Rainforests and compare living on a small island to living in London. The children learn about famous artists and experiment with patterns in Art, and also enjoy making their own vehicles, wind-up toys and Joseph’s coat in DT. To coincide with our topic work, the children will also make educational visits to various places throughout the year.
I am sure that the children will thoroughly enjoy Year 2 as they continue to expand their knowledge and reach new horizons.
